AWS Use Case: VOLARIS Fiscal Reports

Since 2006 VOLARIS has been one of the airlines with the highest presence in Mexico, offering quality customer service and an extensive choice of products.
Currently VOLARIS offers flights to 173 routes (96 national within Mexico and 77 international flights) reaching 69 airports in Mexico, United States, Guatemala, Costa Rica, El Salvador and Nicaragua. Offering more than 334 daily flight sectors in routes that connect cities in other countries.

VOLARIS had the need to migrate Fiscal Reports, due to the increase of information, the limitations of the current technology to support the processes and queries that affected the performance of the functionality, as well as the dependence on the execution of manual processes to have the information required by the Business.

XALDIGITAL proposes as a solution to update the extraction and ingestion process considering data cleansing (Compaction, Overwrite and Append), as well as the generation of reports (Documented Migratory Services and Taxes USA Light) in Power BI.
Once the Fiscal information process was centralized and automated, it can be consulted in a much shorter time through Power BI, obtaining results that can make a difference in relation to its competitors.

As a result of the implementation of Tax Reports, the consolidation of information in Redshift and S3 was achieved.
Processing time was reduced by 50% due to the automation of processes and the integration of business rules to the Taxes Usa Light report that were previously calculated manually, as well as the presentation of information in dashboards and flat files for analysis by the business area in Volaris.
The modification of fares was automated through the manual update catalog, which reduced the update time by 80%.
